Pastor Friesen is native to Saskatchewan and trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior as a boy living in the northern community of La Ronge.
He later trained for ministry at Nipawin where he met his wife, Verna. Together, in 1980 they moved to Edmonton, Alberta to a "church planting" ministry role within Edmonton, Alberta. Having begun a church, they relocated to Swift Current for the development and growth of a church there. This was followed by some years of representing Baptist Mid-Missions nationally before returning back to pastoral ministry within Moncton, New Brunswick. While there, his administrative abilities and the spiritual gift of teaching, combined with their musical talents and love for ministry were greatly used. Then, in 2012, they returned to Saskatchewan to take up oversight responsibility within this congregation. After the untimely death of Verna in 2021, Pastor Friesen married a long-time friend in 2022. Together with his wife, Liana, they are pressing on "toward the mark for the high calling of GOD in Christ Jesus!" |
